MSM F 211-Becca Ray Turner
Week 1 Module 1
Museums have been around from Ancient times to present, but they were not called museums, just collections or curiosities. People would collect things they liked or things to show they were wealthy and would show them off to their friends and family. These collections were not only indoors But outdoors too. Outdoors included gardens, statues and animals, indoors included art, sculptures and curio cabinets.
Conservationists have a really awesome job of repairing and preserving artifacts from archaeological digs from all over the world
Charles Wilson Peale was the first person to actually use the name museum on a collection he opened up to the public in his home state of Pennsylvania.
